Marc's book Case and Point was recommended to me by many, many consultants at top level companys. So far, I have found the book to be very clear and hugely useful for a non-business (i.e. scientist) person to get acquainted with the world of consulting. I am looking forward to using this book as my core resource for preparing for my interviews this fall, and would recommend anyone interesting in consulting to give this a read. I have also signed up for Marc's online material, [...], for additional practice and learning materials. I have found the practice cases to be extremely useful.Product details

Came in new as expected. Trust buyer
Great book, but best paired with Victor Cheng's LOMS tapes and/or his book Case Interview Secrets.
Great book. Well written, easy to follow, and based on experience. Great suggestions too. Not to miss!
The biggest issue with the version is the Table of Contents, which does not organize much in the way of the hierarchy of chapters, subsections, etc. In addition, there are some cases that appear in the incorrect order. There are also plenty of formatting issues, with hanging, empty bullet points, and numbered lists going on too long, continuing into the next section. What’s worse, some content appears completely out of place. The only reason I have been able to make any sense out of it is because I have the 8th edition in print, and the 7th edition ebook.
Side note The iBooks version has the same formatting issues as the edition.
Side note regarding the New Streamlined Ivy Case system In the 9th edition, there is a “new, streamlined Ivy Case System,” yet the book also links to a “Ivy Case System At A Glance,” which is a “user-friendly and printable version.” Unfortunately, this PDF is just the Ivy Case system from the 8th edition, which is not the new streamlined version.
Great book, an essential read for someone considering a career in consulting.
Pros lots of rich detail into cases, example cases are good to understand how to approach consulting
Cons I feel the book has a weak structure, it could improve on presenting the 'methodology' to the reader
As a novice in case interview, this book nicely laid the background and framework for me. I would not suggest remember the framework and try to apply it to every singlecase, but just adapt the insights you gained from this book.
I like this book a lot. It provides 4 main easy-to-remember and effective framework to start a case. There are also plenty of case examples for you to read. But the only thing I am not very satisfied is the book quality. Almost every image looks vague on the book. I can still read the images but it really does affect your mood reading it.
